JAIPUR: Tamil Nadu has positioned first in drawing in local tourism and second after Maharshtra as far as remote visitors footfall in the nation, a tourism official of the southern state asserted in Jaipur on Wednesday.
A year ago Tamil Nadu had a household vacationer convergence of 2,442 lakh as against 1,841 lakh of going before year in 2012, H S Meena, Commissioner and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Tourism, told correspondents.
Tamil Nadu had 39 lakh remote sightseers in 2013 as against 35 lakh in 2012, he said.
With another trademark of “Captivating Tamil Nadu” to charm the vacationers, of the aggregate remote voyagers landing in India, 17 for every penny come to Tamil Nadu, he said.
Talking on the event, Rajasthan’s Principal Secretary Tourism Shailendra Agrawal said Rajasthan could have a coordinated effort with Tamil Nadu Tourism Department to push and trade vacationers on a motivating force premise through guaranteed visit administrators.
Tourism in Rajasthan was the greatest division for creating income and if touts and brokers were kept away this industry could develop speedier, Mr Agrawal said.
