GCC delegates attend educational tourism program in Riyadh



Delegates from Gulf Cooperation CouncilRIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Delegates from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries attended an educational program on tourism entitled “Smile,” organized in Riyadh by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.


The program aims to enhance tourism culture among students by highlighting tourist attractions in the Kingdom.


“The SCTA has conducted a workshop on its expertise in the field of educational efforts to promote tourism. The workshop was attended by officials from public departments related to the tourism sector in GCC countries,” an SCTA official said on Friday.


“Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Tourism in Oman and Bahrain, the Qatar Tourism Authority, the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC) and the hotel sector in Qatar,” the official said.


He said that the workshop schedule included a detailed presentation about the “Smile” program, delivered by Abdul Mohsin Al Dowaisi, Community Relations director at the SCTA.


The workshop also included a documentary on SCTA initiatives.


Workshop attendees from GCC countries visited the Tourism Information and Research Center (MAS) and toured Riyadh’s important landmarks, he said.
