Cuban Cultural Heritage City Increase Tourism

cuba camagueyCamagüey, Cuba, March 10 (Prensa Latina) Opening of new hotels at this Cultural Heritage City, among other actions, allowed to raise by eight percent the number of visitors in the high season, according to reports by local media today.


Victor Veloso, Tourism Ministry (MINTUR) Representative in Camaguey stated that a greater presence of tourists both in Santa Lucia beach and in this city has been reported during the last months.


El Marquez, La Avellaneda and the first rooms at the Santa Maria hotel, all of them at the Historic Center, have already began to work during celebration for the five centuries of the de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe Village foundation, one of the oldest in America.


Gloria Rivero, territorial director of the Camaguey-Las Tunas, explained that these facilities boost the so-called city tours and are still being developed.
