Savusavu Tourism Association ready to showcase Fiji Tourism Board meeting

Savusavu Tourism AssociationIn Fiji, the Savusavu Tourism Association has welcomed the decision to have the Tourism Fiji Board meeting in Savusavu for the first time.


Association president Justin Hunter said it would be an excellent opportunity to showcase Savusavu.


The meeting agenda includes discussion of the major tourism development projects planned for the North in the next five years and other tourism issues.


The acting chair of Tourism Fiji and permanent secretary for Tourism, Elizabeth Powell, said the board meetings would be held in different areas.


While in Savusavu, board members would visit a few major tourism developments planned for the next five years in the North and meet members of the association.


There are 35 licensed hotels and resorts with a total of 314 rooms in Savusavu and the islands off Savusavu.


This is about 10 per cent of the total number of hotels in Fiji and 3 per cent of the total number of rooms.
