agreement with FONATURThursday in Port-au-Prince, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industry (MTIC) and the National Fund for Tourism Development of Mexico [Fondo Nacional de Fomento al Turismo (Fonatur)], the organization responsible for planning and development of sustainable tourism projects in Mexico, signed a memorandum of understanding which follows the basic agreement signed on July 4, 2012, between the tourism authorities of the two countrieshttp://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-6062-haiti-tourism-signature-of-an-agreement-between-mexico-and-haiti.html Recall that the objective of this basic agreement was to develop and strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism between the two parties through Fonatur.

This new agreement should promote the exchange of experiences in the development of tourism infrastructure projects. The provisions of this Convention will be implemented on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, respect for national laws and international commitments made by either of the parties.

To achieve the objectives set out in the two agreements, the signatories agree to hold various activities of Cooperation under Article III of the Basic Agreement, including: exchange of experience and information of common interest for the tourism sector, such as the transfer of information, training visits and technical advice in the development of tourism infrastructure projects, among others.

In this regard, the first areas of collaboration of this new agreement will cover the Tourism Development Plan for the South Coast.
