Rafting ban in Kashmir affects tourism

The ban on rafting in Kashmir by the tourism department has affected the tour operators business significantly.

Rafting

Rafting is a popular activity in Kashmir

The Kashmir Rafting Operators Association (KROA) said that the tour operators have sold the packages to the tourists and this movement when the department has put ban on this activity, our clients are either cancelling their trips or demanding compensation from us.

The association has suggested the tourism board that only the operators who are not obeying the government orders needed to be stopped from conducting the rafting activity.

“KROA has been operating this segment of adventure tourism successfully for the last many years from Warganpal to Yennar stretch with all required rescue measures in place. The KROA has always extended its logistic support to tourism department for arguing different rafting championships and awareness programs in the recent past,” the association was quoted by Greater Kashmir.
